Sneak Peek {Class of 2011 - Devin}

It's been awhile since I've updated my blog, and today I'm making up for it with a MAJOR sneak peek into Devin's portrait session. I have been editing since I got home from the session, and couldn't stop editing because each was more beautiful than the next. I can't take all the credit though, Devin looks just like her mom, and is naturally photogenic.I couldn't really go wrong with her as my model! Also, I want to say "Thanks" to Ruby & Devin for a great time today, and for being so patient while I tried to find the perfect spots and light!

I am working my little heart out editing today! Since I now am working full time during the week, editing and sessions are now done during weekends. Thought I'd share a few more from my session with the Beautiful Alexis. Enjoy these, and I will post more later, since we actually did two sessions!

Coming Soon ! {Alexis | Class of 2010}

I got to spend some time today with a very Spunky Senior. Alexis will be graduating in Class of 2010 and is a HUGE Dallas Cowboys Fan...Huge. She and I toured the Cowboys Stadium today, and I have to say that even though I am not a sports fan, I had a lot of fun! Here's one of my favorites from today, and of course, there will be more to come!

{Loving Polaroid - and you can too!}

I was reading a blog today (that I fell instantly in love with) It's Simply Modern Mom and I came across her post about Polaroids, which I also love. Of course, you may have already figured that out, since I currently have Polaroid-like frames as my header.

So, this really cool site Poladroid.net has what's called the "Poladroid Project" ("Poladroid is not a trademark of Polaroid Corp. It's just a software which reproduces Polaroid Rendering.")  It allows you to download a free application (donations requested) that turns your digital photos into a Polaroid-like picture.

It's great, and best of all, easy!  It clicks and whirrs, and there's your undeveloped "Polaroid".

You can even shake your Polaroid to "develop" it.  I decided to make a Polaroid from a photo taken with my cell phone...you know how those turn out, not the best quality, but cherished for the moment.  And, another good thing (What? It gets better?) Once it's developed it will show a pink ribbon on the corner of the frame, you Right-click the frame and it saves to your computer next to the original in your hard drive.  The dimensions & resolution are large enough for a good quality print.

 What are you waiting for? Go! Go now and get your own Polaroids! Just don't forget about coming back to visit me later!

"RachelJPhoto" on Facebook | Frequent Fan-er Giveaway !

So... I've been avoiding facebook like the plague. Yeah, yeah, I realize everyone and their mother has a facebook page. I've never been one to conform. Never been one to rush out and by the newest in electronics or gadgets. My philosophy has always been to "let them work out the kinks", lest I be one of a hundred people standing in line somewhere to return something that didn't work, or worse, be stuck out somewhere with something that I need and won't work! Ok, OK, so Facebook isn't really an electronic. But still. I just didn't want to invest time in learning something new - don't get me wrong, I love learning, but didn't see how learning to navigate yet another social site was gonna be productive. But, now, I'm addicted. I joined :|

What does this have to do with you? Well, I'm giving away *** A FREE SESSION to the person that refers the most fans by Monday January 18, 2010**** Tell your friends to send me a note after becoming a fan and let me know who referred them!

I am in there with no spaces "RachelJPhoto" Not sure if I can change that now or not...too scared to find out, I will post a link when I uh...figure out how to do that! {a few minutes later, after help with google...} Got it! My box is on my blog!! Whew! That was a lot of work ;) I may have broken out in a sweat....Somebody, Everybody, Fan me!!

Great Gift Idea or Project | 2010 Calendar

I love to make Calendars featuring photo's of my little family from the previous year, it's a great way to see how much things have changed and my little one has grown. So, I came across this great Free Download on the Shutter Sisters Blog and thought I'd share... Why not make your own calendar? These are sized to fit into a CD case, but you can put them on a little mini-easel, tack them on a wall or memo board, use a binder clip to keep them all together, or even just magnetize it to the frig.
This is the link! Click Here!
